December puts me in such a fuzzy mood – a combination of nostalgic, dreamy & thankful all at once. Winding down has always been my way of gaining clarity for the new year & loading up my thankfulness tank as everything sure is more beautiful and meaningful on hindsight. I take the time to revisit moments, feel and pay attention to every emotion & lessons deeply, count my blessings & release myself of things that I can’t control.
2019 was a pretty epic year for me! I shall grant a curtain call for those that I said ‘Yes’ to and did not regret!!!
The first big ‘Yes’ went to my then fiancé now husband at our wedding in January which set us on this grand roller coaster ride called marriage. What a way to start the year, in a good way I mean! Marriage is like signing up to love unconditionally, blow up the good things & write-off every offence endlessly & do life hand in hand with the most loyal comrade 24/7. Its awesome! That came with making a new city my home, settling into new roles & routine. I took the chance to take a career break to rest and incubate. Going slow and going where the love goes, seeing the best in everything, learning, being inspired by simply doing things differently, finding deep meaning & balance for the things that I do was part of the rest. Lots of intentional mindfulness. Yes and yes and yes all the way.
The icing on the cake! In March I was beautifully surprised with a positive pregnancy test! Despite having my share of morning sickness, worries & diet restrictions, the cute little kicks, hiccups and dances definitely overwritten that! Even the ‘baby squirming on my bladder & running to the loo every 5 minutes’ part was kind of fun!
Just when I think I’ve loved it all out and feeling on top of the world, out came the little one and sent me on top of the universe!!! The love grew in a split second & pushed all boundaries and I know without a doubt there’s nothing I won’t do for this little girl. A big fat YASSS for this first class motherhood love!
2019 will always be my special year of letting go, embracing change and being thankful for the opportunity to grow and become better, understanding that rest & mindfulness is crucial in pursuit of dreams, and discover that the greatest love is the ones you give away. Grateful for the ‘Yes’s that awarded me with brand new lenses, a clear mind, a growing heart & beautiful memories to cherish forever.
Here’s to more epic Yeses in 2020!
